Guided by Swami Vivekananda’s teaching that "Service to man is service to God," the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama in Haflong actively engages in relief and welfare activities to support the underprivileged and marginalized communities across the Dima Hasao district.
Winter Relief Program:
The harsh winter months can be incredibly challenging for families in remote areas. To provide warmth and comfort, our Ashrama conducts an extensive annual Winter Relief drive. Recently, we distributed a total of 700 blankets across 16 villages and areas:
- November 16, 2025 (79 Blankets): Ramji, Indunglo, Raisingram, Herakilo I, and Herakilo II.
- November 23, 2025 (439 Blankets): Semkhor Tuiali, Makalo, Hangding, Joyabra, Sabailing, Disalao, Semkhor I, Giringnapur, and Guilong.
- December 25, 2025 (62 Blankets): Mahur.
- January 7, 2026 (120 Blankets): Mahadevtila, Diblong, and Hatikhali Bazar.
Matri Puja on Mahalaya:
Every year on the auspicious day of Mahalaya, we perform Matri Puja to honor the Divine Mother residing in all beings. As part of this sacred observance, we distribute saris and various food items to mothers in need from the local community, followed by a communal feeding where everyone is served noon prasad.
